But the new owners, USFR Media Group, are from Houston too. From chron.com:
Brown said Thursday that in late February or early March he plans to move the station from its location on Old Katy Road into facilities that once served as home of the cable channel News 24 Houston. That building, on Equity Drive in west Houston, is a state-of-the-art television facility.
He plans to keep the existing staff of 30 and make additional hires.
"We're kind of a small, quiet company," said Brown, a longtime Houstonian. "We're excited about making this an important station and a great asset to the community."
USFR Media Group publishes Western and polo magazines and owns America One Television, a network of some 100 stations located across the country. Brown said immediate plans do not call for KTBU to join that network.
After looking at the America One website, they own this gem I blogged about earlier too.
I guess after moving to the Compaq Center, Lakewood needed cash more than a TV station. CONTACT: Leave me a Houston or Texas media news tip | COMMENT: Click to leave your thoughts on this post here
