For those of you who missed the Houston Press Club's Gridiron show, (and judging by the audience size many of you did) you lost your chance to see Mayor Bill White perform on stage.
Dressed in a suit and cowboy hat, the mayor of the largest city in the state took on Bruce Nichols' Dallas Morning News article about his chance for a run as Texas Governor. Of course this was done as a humor based top ten list that members of the local press wrote for him. He even appeared to be nervous to read some of the lines like: "Forget red-light camera bring on cameras in the red-light district."
That was my favorite.
Mayor White is fun because he can poke fun at himself. Good thing he has a sense of humor. The theme of the show was disasters and one of the biggest topics was the massive evacuation during Rita.
