Kelvin Henry joins ABC13 Houston KTRK

Kelvin Henry joined ABC13 Houston KTRK in January 2026, but appears to have filed his first story in early February.

"I’m excited to call Houston and @abc13houston home," Henry posted.

Prior to arriving in Houston, Henry spent more than four years at NBC 7 San Diego KNSD, the NBC-owned station.  As a general assignment reporter, he frequently focused on economic and enterprise reporting, spearheading in-depth coverage of Southern California’s evolving economy. His reporting regularly appeared across NBCUniversal platforms, including MSNBC, CNBC, KNBC in Los Angeles, and WNBC in New York.

Before San Diego, Henry worked as a reporter and multimedia journalist at ABC57 WBND in South Bend, Indiana, serving the South Bend–Mishawaka market.

Henry began his broadcast journalism career at CNN in Washington, D.C., where he worked as a News Associate in the network’s bureau, supporting national newsgathering operations and coordinating coverage for correspondents and anchors.

A New York City native, Henry earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Hofstra University and a master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and Public Affairs from American University. He is an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ).

Henry also gained early newsroom experience through internships at several major stations, including NBC4 Washington WRC, ABC7 New York WABC, contributing to the station’s "Here and Now" program, and News 12 Long Island.

Now, before you ask, if I had to guess based on my own blog, Henry is probably taking Shannon Ryan's position.

(Thanks, Taylor!)
