Erin Garza has been promoted from assistant news director to the CBS Austin KEYE news director position.
She takes over for Rob Cartwright, who was named vice president of news for CBS Boston WBZ in September.
Garza has been with CBS Austin since 2018.
Before joining CBS Austin, Garza produced newscasts for CW39 Houston KIAH and KHOU 11, where she worked as both a special projects and news producer.
A graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Garza earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Media Studies with a minor in Entertainment Management. During her time at UNLV, she gained early newsroom experience as a producer, anchor, and reporter for UNLV-TV’s live daily newscast.
Garza is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) and the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ).
