Bruce Smith has been promoted to news director at FOX 4 KDFW Dallas-Fort Worth, following an 18-year tenure as assistant news director.
He takes over the vice president/news director role from Robin Whitmeyer, who retired this month after 13 years with the FOX-owned station.
Smith, who has three decades of experience in television, will help oversee the future KDFW studios' move from downtown to a new facility in Las Colinas currently under construction.
Smith has over three decades of experience in television.
His journey at FOX 4 began in 1996 as a producer. He later became the Executive Producer of Good Day, leading the morning show for over seven years before stepping into his assistant ND role in 2006.
Before joining KDFW, the Texas A&M University graduate worked as a producer at KING 5 Seattle and KTBC 7 Austin.
