Alejandra Puente left her KTXS 12 Abilene weekend anchor position in February 2025.
"Before I head out I truly wanna thank you all for allowing me into your homes & for trusting me with your stories," Puente posted. "It has been a privilege and a joy to be a part of the community. I couldn’t have imagined starting my career anywhere else."
Puente joined KTXS in July 2023.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications from The George Washington University. Puente hosted a bilingual radio show through the school’s WRGW District Radio as a student.
Sierra Henry
Leaving in January 2025 was sports director Sierra Henry, who joined Texas Southern University as a Sports Information Coordinator.
Henry made KTXS history as its first female Sports Director for the station.
Henry began her basketball career at Tyler Junior College, where she played while earning an Associate Degree in Business Administration in 2013. Following graduation, she moved to Houston to pursue a career in journalism.
In 2017, Henry earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications-Broadcast Journalism from the University of Houston, with a minor in Business Administration. During her time at Houston, she worked as a student reporter for the Athletics Communication Office. Henry contributed to major productions, including the 2016 Men’s Final Four, Super Bowl LVI, and ESPN’s Mike & Mike, among others.
Henry continued advancing her career by earning a Master of Arts degree in Radio, Television, and Film from Texas Southern University in 2022. While at Texas Southern, she was a Graduate Assistant for the Athletic Communications Office. Henry established and managed an internship program for Texas Southern students, ensuring all 16 athletic teams received equal media coverage and maintained an online presence across the university’s social and athletic platforms.
Henry expanded her work in sports broadcasting by joining HBCU Go Sports in 2022, contributing to football production, and later serving as a sideline reporter for HBCU men’s and women’s basketball in 2023.
In March 2023, Henry made her ESPN+ debut as a color analyst for the NJCAA Basketball Game of the Week.
