Last week, KTRK abc13 posted its Hurricane Harvey coverage ratings information.

Today, KPRC 2 responded to that post to let us know how many Houstonians were watching its Hurricane Harvey news coverage.

"We really didn’t want to come out with a piece on the coverage because a number of homes were taken out of the sample and KHOU was off the air/or at best impaired during the coverage," KPRC 2 VP/General Manager Jerry Martin told mikemcguff.com. "We felt we had to respond in some form, only when KTRK sent that piece to you.

"We are happy with the numbers, especially post wall to wall coverage. Most importantly, I am both humbled and proud not only of the work of my team but of the work that all of the 'Big Four' television stations along with Univision and Telemundo performed during the storm. Sentiments that I relayed to [Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai] on his visit last week to the station."
