KWTX 10 Waco gets new set

KWTX Waco debuts new set, KCEN working on new station

KWTX 10 debuted a new set a few weeks ago. I remember when the station got a new one in the late 90s. It looked very good for the Waco market back then. This one does not look like it disappoints either.

However, KCEN, the areas NBC affiliate, is going to try to do the CBS affiliate one better. It's building a brand new station.

KXXV 25 anchor Bruce Gietzen retires from TV

  1. KWTX parent company Gray Television must have kept the Waco CBS affiliate set makeover a closely guarded secret. I'm guessing that Park Place Studio designed the new KWTX set... doesn't look like FX or Devlin set.

Of the Texas stations needing set makeovers. Dallas: I see KDFW getting a Devlin set. WFAA getting Jack Morton PDG set, similar to that of KING and KUSA. Houston: I see KRIV getting FX set, similar to WOFL. KHOU getting something in 2017. Don't know if KPRC will move the set they've had since 2013 to the new building, or get something completely new.

Outside of Texas... I hope TEGNA is planning new sets for WKYC and WUSA over the summer. Hope Tribune is looking to makeover WJW, WGNO, KTLA, and WGN. Also hope Raycom has plans for new WMC set. Network O&O's, hope that NBC gets its hands on WVIT soon.

  2. Correction to my previous comment. Turns out FX Design Group designed KWTX set, and not Park Place Studio. Source: NewscastStudio. FX did a great job with the Waco CBS affiliate.
