Houstonia Magazine publisher to launch Love Wins Texas Weddings

Today, SagaCity Media President Nicole Vogel announced the newest addition to the company’s slate of award-winning titles, Love Wins Texas Weddings, a publication aimed squarely at the state’s 500,000-plus LGBT residents. The magazine and its accompanying website—a Texas first, and among the first regional titles of its kind in America—will be an indispensable resource for gays and lesbians seeking to tie the knot in the Lone Star state.

“We are extremely excited to announce the launch of this very special publication,” says Vogel of Love Wins Texas, which will publish twice yearly beginning in January of 2016. “Ever since the Supreme Court’s historic decision [in June], LGBT Texans have been filing for marriage licenses all over the state. Indeed, an estimated 15,000 will have done so by the end of next year. With the publication of Love Wins Texas, couples seeking marriage will have a wedding planning tool that’s as comprehensive and beautiful as a traditional bridal magazine, but tailored specifically to the gay and lesbian market.”

“From wedding planners to florists, caterers to videographers, every expert we consult and every vendor we recommend will be an enthusiastic supporter of marriage equality,” says the newly-minted publisher of Love Wins Texas Weddings, Jack Berger, who comes to the magazine from OutSmart, Houston’s premiere gay and lesbian title. “Our weddings are expected to contribute more than $180 million to the state’s economy over the next few years, and prospective couples need to know where that money will be welcomed. Beyond that, they need to know how to spend it, and we intend to give them every tool necessary to make their special days truly special.”

“Having worked with Jack back in my corporate years, I’ve always been impressed by his understanding of the LGBT market, as well as his personal enthusiasm for both the challenges and opportunities facing the community,” says Diane Caplan, Group Publisher. “It’s a thrill to finally work with him. Between Jack’s devotion to serving our state’s trailblazing couples and SagaCity’s devotion to creating unique and beloved publications, Love Wins Texas should be, well, a match made in heaven!”
