Syan Rhodes joining KPRC 2 from WESH 2

Syan Rhodes is leaving Orlando's WESH 2 for KPRC 2 in Houston. Hal Boedeker of the Orlando Sentinel reports that she will start at the Houston NBC affiliate Monday, July 7 as a general assignments reporter.

"I'm excited to come home," Rhodes told mikemcguff.com via Twitter.

The Emmy-award winning journalist is currently the anchor of WESH 2 News on CW18 at 10:00. According to her bio, Rhodes joined WESH in November 2007 as the co-anchor of WESH 2 News Sunrise.

Before that she spent two years as weekend anchor at WMC-TV, the NBC affiliate in Memphis, Tenn., and three years as a reporter and weekend morning anchor at WBIR-TV, the NBC affiliate in Knoxville, Tenn. Rhodes also worked as an investigative reporter and weekend anchor at KETK-TV, the NBC affiliate in Tyler, Texas.

She is a graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and interned at KSNT-TV, the NBC affiliate in Topeka, Kan.

  5. Syan has such a professional/melodic/soothing voice. I will miss her as an anchor in Florida giving her insight on domestic/international issues. Continued good luck Syan.
