KTRK abc13 studios shot at again; suspect in custody

Scary moments at the KTRK abc13 studios on Bissonnet this morning as gunshots were fired into the station's parking lot. There were no reports of injuries.

A Houston Police Department spokesperson told mikemcguff.com it happened around 5:40am. Police say a witness saw a person point and fire a weapon into the parking lot.

Five vehicles in the parking lot were damaged as a result with several having windows shot out.

At least some of the event was captured on surveillance cameras. A police investigation is underway.

Just last week, KTRK staffers experienced another gun related event when reporter Demond Fernandez and photographer Gerzain Garcia had a gun pulled on them by a homeowner in Huffman, TX. The Harris County Sheriff's Office arrested that man on an aggravated assault charge earlier this week.

  4. So they chose to trespass against a scared 73 year old man and were shocked when he chose to pull a firearm in his own home. I have no sympathy for them. I hope HPD determines it was the ghost of Marvin Zindler.

KTRK Ch 13 anchors and reporters will likely need guns to protect themselves whenever they're doing news reports

    Kenneth,

It's not trespassing until you're asked to leave (unless posted No Trespassing). If you go up and knock on someone's door, you're welcome until you're asked to leave, It's trespassing once you refuse to leave. As soon as the KTRK reporter was asked to go, he left. The man pulled the gun with no threat to his safety or security -- that's assault under even Texas law.

  8. Listen, I think Dave Ward's 'Before We Go..." segments need to go the way of the Ford Pinto....but this is no way to voice a complaint.

Of course, if this forces Ilona Carson to pack some heat under that blouse, I'm all for that!
