Michael Berry says show will not hurt his wife's Texas Secretary of State role

Michael Berry: "Only angry libtard supposed feminists would ever blame her for what someone else says"

Governor Rick Perry swears in Nandita Berry
as the 109th Texas Secretary of State
Governor Rick Perry appointed and swore in Nandita Berry as the 109th Texas Secretary of State. So, why am I covering this on a Houston media blog?

Notice the last name? That's right, Nandita Berry is the wife of 740 KTRH/syndicated conservative talker and Redneck Country Club owner Michael Berry.

According to the state, the duties of the office of the Texas Secretary of State are wide-ranging and include serving as the chief election officer for the state, the governor’s liaison on border and Mexican affairs, and Texas’ chief protocol officer for state and international matters. Additionally, the office manages the business and public filings for Texas.

So I had to ask the previously controversial Michael Berry, will he have to watch what he says on the radio now that his wife is in politics?

"We're two different people," Michael Berry told mikemcguff.com. "She's the Secretary of State, I'm the Czar of Talk Radio. Only angry libtard supposed feminists would ever blame her for what someone else says."

Secretary Berry is the first Indian-American to hold the office and a graduate of the University of Houston and the UH Law Center. Prior to holding office, she was senior counsel at Locke Lord LLP in Houston.

Gov. Perry appointed Former Texas Secretary of State John Steen to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

  1. What does he have anything to do with her ability to be a great Secretary of State? What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent article were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

  4. So exactly WHY did you have to ask? Is your wife responsible for your stupid blog post--like this one? INDIVIDUALITY reigns whether you like it or not. My husband likes beer but I don't. Is that a reflection on either of us? He votes straight party ticket and I vote for individuals. Does that make either of our votes count any more or any less? Some people actually have brains AND USE THEM. Just because she's married to an outspoken radio personality doesn't mean that she will automatically have the same opinion as he does. Do you just assume that she's gotten where she is today riding on HIS coattails? This has to be the dumbest blog post I've read in a LONG time. possibly ever.

  7. Michael Berry was sooooo controversial when he coordinated efforts to rebuild Elbert Woods' home. He does job fairs on his show to try and hook people up with employers - should he stop doing that? His tireless efforts to promote local music have boosted careers. I am sure Madame Secretary Berry is very proud of her husband and has no reason to want him to change one thing about his methods. I've wasted enough time here. Enjoy your 15 minutes of notoriety.

  10. Did you ask Mario Elie if being married to Gina Gaston affected the privacy of the Rockets' locker room and off court issues?

Did you ask Nick Florescu if being married to a woman who used a racial slur on air to a black peer would affect his business ventures or his society standing?

Did you ask Steve Simon if being married to Lisa Baldwin meant they could share scoops and use the system for their own advantage?

I'm neither pro- or anti-Berry, and I enjoy McGuff's stuff. But the subjective questioning was a poor decision.

    1. This is what Rush talks about low information voters. Comparing news celebrities to elected officials is what's wrong with this country!

    1. Are you referring to the accident that went unreported for 5 days? The accident in which the complainant could not be located after the fact? The same accident that offered up paint samples that didn't match Michael Berry's vehicle?
