CSN to air more than 50 college football games

Coaches Shows, Insider Access, and More Give Viewers a New Home for Their College Football Fix

Comcast SportsNet Houston (CSN), a partnership between the Houston Astros, Houston Rockets and the NBC Sports Group, announced details of the network's schedule of more than 50 NCAA football games in 2013, featuring weekly match ups with schools from around the region.

The network will also debut a new college football recap show, College Football Central, airing live at 10:30 p.m. each Saturday from CSN's studios starting August 31.

CSN's 2013 live college football schedule features schools competing in the SEC, Conference USA, the Lone Star Conference, the Southland Conference, as well as independent games featuring New Mexico State and others. Multiple appearances by Sam Houston State, UTSA, Rice, UTEP, and New Mexico State highlight the schedule.

The 2013 college football slate on CSN also features at least 26 more games airing on a delayed basis, including five Texas Southern home games, eight Southland Conference matchups, and seven Notre Dame contests.

CSN will provide college football fans with even more insight through shows like Inside LSU Football, SEC Football Tonight, Houston Cougar Football Central, Rice Owls Football Central, plus additional coaches and insider shows from UTSA, McNeese State, Lamar, and more.

Coverage will also include daily updates, analysis, and special guests on both SportsTalk Live (5 p.m., M-F) and SportsNet Central (Daily at 6 p.m., 10 p.m. and midnight, weekends at 10 p.m. and midnight).

CSN is available in both standard and high definition to all local cable, satellite and telco TV providers and today is carried by:

  1. Great lineup of games! Only problem is... will Comcast SportsNet Houston FINALLY get a deal done with the major carriers (Dish, DirecTV, AT&T U-Verse, etc.) so that us college football fans can enjoy them without having to sign with Comcast? Lot of us still upset with the carriage issues regarding CSN Houston.

  2. It may be time to pressure the long-term corporate sponsors of the local teams. Their media sponsorships are diluted by the smaller viewership due to these ongoing carriage issues.
