KHOU 11's Lisa Hernandez's boyfriend put a ring on the anchor's finger. I originally tweeted out KHOU's story about it, but some of my readers demanded this news make the actual blog so here it is.

Hernandez's new fiancé, Joel Blank, the Director of Broadcasting/Radio announcer for the Houston Rockets, took Hernandez to a small acoustic performance by the Goo Goo Dolls at the Mix 96.5 KHMX studios. The band was in Houston to play The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion with Matchbox Twenty (I saw the Goo Goo Dolls back at Lakewood Church The Summit in 1996).

Joel totally blanked Hernandez's mind with this one...she didn't see it coming apparently.

“I said a long time ago that when you plus me, equals we -- we would become unstoppable,” Blank told KHOU. “And on our first date you said we both went on our last first date. Today I'm going to make sure that's possible.”
