KPRC 2 number 1 at 10pm for 2nd month

KPRC 2 sent me this release on how the station's 10pm newscast has been number one for two months in a row:

Local 2 Wins for the Second Straight Rating Period

The Nielsen ratings are in for February 2012, and KPRC Local 2 is the late news leader in Houston for the second straight month. In the key industry
demographics of Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49, KPRC Local 2 tops the list.

For Adults 25-54, Monday-Sunday 10p ratings, KPRC Local 2 took the top spot, as well as being the only station to show year-to-year growth.

KPRC 2.5
KTRK 2.4
KHOU 2.2

In Adults 18-49, Monday-Sunday 10pm ratings, KPRC Local 2 also took the top spot outright, again being the only station to grow year-to-year.

KPRC 2.0
KTRK 1.8
KHOU 1.4

“We’re giving viewers the content they want,” said Deborah Collura, KPRC’s Vice President and News Director “People who may not have seen us in a while are giving us a try and clearly liking what they see. We just want to thank Houston for making us number one.”

“To win the first two months of the year shows this is a trend that we intend to continue,” said KPRC Vice President and General Manager, Jerry Martin “We have big momentum in an important year, with a very interesting political race heating up and the Olympics this Summer.”

All ratings are based on Nielsen Live+SD overnights for the measurement period of February 2nd, 2012 through February 29st, 2012. KPRC is the local affiliate for the NBC Network.
