KIAH 39 anchor Katishia Cosley to head back home to KTRK 13

And the swapping between channels 13 and 39 (and vice versa) continues. Following photographer Matt Robbins from KIAH 39 to the KTRK 13 programming department is Katishia Cosley. You've watched Cosley anchor/report on 39 for a few years, but observant Houston TV viewers will remember her freelance reporter days at KTRK 13.

As pointed out on Twitter, Cosley is the second employee to return to work at KTRK in the last month.

Cosley will be a host/producer on a new show KTRK is producing for its Live Well HD network. According to the recent job opening, the show will have a consumer bent:

Are you a savvy bargain hunter? The person who knows the secrets to scoring the best deals in town? KTRK-TV, the ABC/Disney owned station located in Houston, TX has an immediate opening for a Show Host/Reporter/Producer for an innovative new programming project.

Cosley has experience in that world. She reported on "saving money" for channel 39's On the Cheap segment.

Congrats to Katishia...she'll be good for this gig. I enjoyed working with her at both KTRK and KIAH.

  3. Mike,

Can you explain what is going on over there at CW? I didnt even know that station had a news program that anyone watched.
What is going to happen once the show goes to anchorless and reporterless status? And can you explain that in greater detail. thanks

  4. Anonymous hater: You should have written should've instead of should of. Apparently, you are horrible with English.

  5. There's hope for you too McGuff. Maybe 13 will hire you back...if you didn't burn 2 many bridges.

  6. What am I qualified for there? They outsource the swimming pool cleaning...not that I would do a good job on that anyway.

  7. Best of luck. There is no place at 39 for a journalist that wishes to stay employed for long. Same goes for 26.

  8. What is Live Well HD? I don't have it on my satellite service.

  9. To Anonymous who posted the first comment...you are such a "HATER." I think we all know that you applied for that job and didn't get it. Now you want to post "Anonymous" messages on the blogs talking smack.

You wish you had a 1/4 of the talent Katishia Cosley has. She got that job because she's talented and deserves it.

Meanwhile, you're sitting up at the station doing minute cut-ins, just to save face. Seriously?

Honey please. Wipe the egg off your face and clean up your finances while you're at it.

    Keep rising Katishia!

  13. As a fan of hers, I'm proud for Katishia Cosley. I just wish her the very best in her new gig. Proud for her ever since first seeing her on ABC 13 a few years ago. It will be sad not to see her anchor or report, but I'm still happy for her regardless.

It is Katishia's lighthearted and positive appeal that levitates me to her the most. There was a certain energy in her that made me appreciate her on-air talent. I first saw her on CW39 in December 2009 when that snow day happened. Since, I've followed CW39 to see KC on the tube. She has been solid both as a reporter and an anchor (at least I think so).

Just to say one last time... congratulations to Katishia Cosley on her new gig.
