KPRC 2 creative services director Gary Wann leaves for KXAS 5 DFW

One of the folks who had a major impact on KPRC 2 in recent years is heading for Dallas-Fort Worth. KPRC creative services director Gary Wann has accepted the job of vice president of marketing and brand development for KXAS 5 NBC.

This is actually a homecoming for Wann who came to Houston from KTVT CBS 11 in 2007.

Wann tells me he enjoyed working at KPRC and living in Houston but is looking forward to returning to the DFW area. We can forgive him.

On a personal note, Gary hired me on a consulting basis to develop KPRC's Facebook presence and I really enjoyed working for him. He clearly loves the TV business, knows his stuff and I wish him well in North Texas. Houston, we lost a good one this week.

His last day at channel 2 is this Friday.

  1. Mike McGuff, I think KPRC is on the verge on cleaning house and I think the station has never recovered since the late Ron Stone retired in 1992.

  2. Totally agree with comment #1

  3. Cleaning house? They've been doing that every few months since Post-Newsweek took over back in the 1990s. Who now?

  4. They should of hired him to be the new GM...
