Former KLOL rocker Dayna Steele wants to help you publish a book

Former Rock 101 KLOL DJ Dayna Steele has many facets to her career. Obviously she was a Houston broadcaster on several area stations, then a space memorabilia store owner, motivational speaker, consultant and author (I'm probably missing some too).

In 2008 I posted how Steele wrote a book called Rock to the Top: What I Learned About Success From The World's Greatest Rock Stars. Now Steele is offering us advice on what she learned about publishing.
I asked her a few questions about the Houston area workshop (She did a great interview with Michael Garfield on 950 KPRC Saturday about this too):

Mike McGuff:  What kind of info will you be covering in your upcoming book workshop?
Dayna Steele:  The basics of writing, editing, publishing, marketing and selling. As well as the things I learned along the way - including how mo to spend a fortune.

MM: Writing and getting a book published seems like a long journey. What important lessons did you learn over the course of writing your book?
DS: That I could do it. That's probably the biggest thing, is the accomplishment. I love that the stories are in a book and I love it when people come up to me and say they have read it ...and enjoyed it!

MM:  How is the Internet changing an author's world in terms of publicity and distribution?
DS:  It's changing everything - from the way you can publish yourself to bypassing regular distribution channels and selling it yourself. Just like musicians have discovered - you don't need the big dogs if you work hard and play the marketing/networking game

MM:  Anything else you want to add?
DS:  Writing a book was one of the best things I ever did but also the most frustrating and expensive. I hope to help some folks in their journey and make it a little smoother. Above all else, it was worth everything to write the book.

I’m Finally Going to Write That Book!
