TV meteorologist Byron Miranda lands in Seattle

Remember KPRC Channel 2 morning meteorologist Byron Miranda?  When he exited the station it caused quite a stir on the mikemcguff.com blog from readers.

Well I got an anonymous message yesterday that Mr. Miranda is forecasting the weather at KIRO Channel 7 in Seattle:

For those who are curious on the whereabouts of Byron Miranda. He is currently doing the weather on channel 7 up here in Seattle Washington.

I have never really seen the guy until now. He seems to be very professional. Has plenty of personality. I think a great add on too.

I went to KIRO's web site and did not see Byron Miranda there, but we will take Miranda's agent's anonymous' word for it.

Byron, I can help you with the weather forecast. It will rain and there will be a coffee shop on every corner. Wait what am I doing? That's as stereotypical as someone from Seattle telling Tim Heller or Casanova Nurse the weather in Houston is always hot, humid and full of rich oil executives in downtown.

Oh wait a minute.

According to the anchors on KIRO Byron is from their sister station in Oakland and is filling in for chief meteorologist Rebecca Stevenson. Haven't heard thats he technically been hired.

Actually, I heard they had hired someone already, which if I am correct, is Bryon. I knew a guy who was offered a weekend position there and out of his control, had to turn it down. I believe he was from Texas...some small market.

Interesting, I noticed KIRO has the weekend weather job still posted on their website.

Byron is now in Sacramento CA at KCRA. Not impressed.

Saw him yesterday on KCRA, seemed like he knew what he was talking about.

He's been on KCRA for a time now...He's ok. Does a good job. I find it interesting that KCRA doesn't list him in the "Weather Team" section. Probably for legal reasons since they said they let Julie Watts go because of budget and her "position" was eliminated. It seemed like Byron filled within a few weeks. Office politics?? Who knows. He fits in. I wish him good luck in the new slot...

I really miss Byron at Channel 2 in Oakland. He is very professional and has class. Martin looks like a clown to me :(

oh, and, lucky us here in San Diego, we are now stuck with him.. but, seeing how often he's moved around in the last couple of years, I can only hope he just keeps moving!
