With all of the talk about the Houston sports-talk wars, things on other parts of the Houston radio dial are slipping by and not getting noticed.
The Mexicanz who left or were let go from Mega 101 KLOL, have shown up across the street at Party 104.9 KPTY to do mornings. That station has the best call letters.
And Lauren, who appeared with Carson in prime time on 104.1 KRBE, has left the Cumulus building and landed in the Galleria area at Clear Channel HQ. She's now on 94.5 The Buzz.
I first told you about Clear Channel's MySpace-like efforts and it appears that this has launched. Trying to fight MySpace and facebook will be a tough battle, but with a radio station's promotional efforts, it will have a better chance than other startups. Even if it fails, this effort is better than radio sitting back and doing nothing.
I'm also hearing rumors about Michael Berry. I've emailed him about them and haven't heard back yet. Will keep you posted.
