Lucy Noland, a Saigon native and single mother of three, will become co-anchor of Channel 11's 5 and 10 p.m. news beginning Monday. She replaces Lisa Foronda, who announced in December that she was leaving the station.
Nolan said the beauty of the city, the warmness of the people and the sizable Vietnamese population figured in her leaving her job as co-anchor of the morning show at the Fox affiliate in New York City.
Going from the No. 1 to the No. 10 market is not an unprecedented move. Channel 11 anchor Greg Hurst came here from New York.
Noland was very popular at Fox 5 WNYW in New York from what I gather. She is popular on YouTube as well. To show the difference between conservative Houston television and her previous market, watch this clip where Noland reacts to Fox's The Morning Show With Mike and Juliet.
She was very popular in New York based on the amount of blog traffic she has been getting since she left that market. There are a lot of "Where is Lucy Noland?", "I love Noland" and "Lucy Noland is hot" kind of posts out there.(Image courtesy of Lucy Noland's Wikipedia page)
LUCY, I REALLY MISS YOU ON FOX NEWS. I WATCHED YOU EVERY DAY. I DID NOT KNOW WHERE YOU WENT TO. I WISH YOU THE BEST YOU A BEAUTIFUL AND WARM PERSON. GOOD LUCK
ReplyDeleteStill missing Lucy Noland from her time at Fox2 Detroit. It was a sad day when she left for Fox5 NeW York. At least I could see her do her job by satellite from New York. Now she has moved to Houston and no longer available by satellite in this area. Please Lucy..... come back ro Detroit we miss watching you. From Windsor, Ontario.
ReplyDeleteLucy has me watching Channel 11 every night, she a very good co-anchor but a beautiful lady! Keep up the good work!!

Lucy,
ReplyDeleteFox 5 is really very foolish to not have made you co-anchor of their evening news. Not only are you beautiful but a sweetheart, and very pleasant to watch in the morning. Now we are stuck watching goofy aka Lynda Lopez. We miss you.
LUCY,I WAS USE TO GETTING UP TO YOUR SMILE IN THE MORNING IT WAS TOTALLY BETTER THAN DRINKING COFFEE..CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW JOB..HOPE TO SEE YOU BACK IN NEW YORK IN THE FURTURE BEST WISHES IN ALL..ITS NOT THE SAME WITHOUT YOU..KIND OF CORNY
ReplyDeleteI honestly looked foward to seeing Lucy on Fox 5 every morning as I got ready for work. She gave the news in a real way, she didn't strike me as the majority who give the news as the phony actors they are, (no disrespect). The fact that she's such an attractive lady was a joy to see so early in the morning. Ever since she has been gone it's hard for me to sit and watch Fox 5 so now I watch News 1. Lucy you were greatly appreciated by many in New York, I wish you and your children the best and will miss seeing your beautiful face and hearing your lovely voice. God Bless You.
ReplyDeleteLucy, I visited the New Jersey/New York area last and instantly became a fan. I was hooked! You're a beautiful and smart lady. I looked forward to getting up and watching you in the mornings. You seem very down to earth. No phony. I hope your next stop is the Washington, D.C. metro area.
ReplyDeleteI watched you every morning on Fox 5 and I was really surprised that they never offered you the position for anchor instead of bringing in the blond Jodi
ReplyDeleteMike
I miss seeing Lucy, Allen, Ronda and Cam on Fox2Detroit - I still watch, but there's something missing - YOU!
ReplyDeleteWOW what a demotion. Much continued success. FOX News NY has gone way down with Jodi Applegate out and Rosanna ("How's my meatloaf") Scotto.
