Lucy Noland, a Saigon native and single mother of three, will become co-anchor of Channel 11's 5 and 10 p.m. news beginning Monday. She replaces Lisa Foronda, who announced in December that she was leaving the station.Nolan said the beauty of the city, the warmness of the people and the sizable Vietnamese population figured in her leaving her job as co-anchor of the morning show at the Fox affiliate in New York City.
Going from the No. 1 to the No. 10 market is not an unprecedented move. Channel 11 anchor Greg Hurst came here from New York.
Noland was very popular at Fox 5 WNYW in New York from what I gather. She is popular on YouTube as well. To show the difference between conservative Houston television and her previous market, watch this clip where Noland reacts to Fox's The Morning Show With Mike and Juliet.
She was very popular in New York based on the amount of blog traffic she has been getting since she left that market. There are a lot of "Where is Lucy Noland?", "I love Noland" and "Lucy Noland is hot" kind of posts out there.(Image courtesy of Lucy Noland's Wikipedia page) CONTACT: Leave me a Houston or Texas media news tip | COMMENT: Click to leave your thoughts on this post here
