In July 2022, FOX 26 Houston KRIV viewers began emailing about the whereabouts of evening anchor Kaitlin Monte.
By the next month, I confirmed that Monte was no longer with the station.
Now, in her first time back on camera, Monte talks to Hello Houston's Celeste Díaz Schurman about her choice to quietly leave her FOX 26 anchor position.
She describes experiencing burnout due to the demanding nature of her job and the changing television news industry, as well as a pivotal moment when her daughter's comment made her realize she wasn't as present as she had wanted to be.
Monte also discusses rebuilding her identity outside of her career and exploring a new path in life.
