Brian Burns has left his weekend anchor position with 3News KIII Corpus Christi.
"For those of you who didn’t know, I resigned my position from KIII TV," Burns posted. "I still live here because I’ve met no one but friends since I moved here 12 years ago. I hope I run into each of you to say hi."
Burns joined KIII in 2013 as a reporter and was soon promoted to anchor.
Before moving to Corpus Christi, he worked for TEGNA's sister station, KBMT 12 Beaumont (2005 to 2013), as a noon and 6:30 p.m. news anchor.
He previously held anchor positions at KLFY 10 Lafayette (2004 to 2005) and KPLC 7 Lake Charles (1997 to 2001), both in Louisiana.
A native of upstate New York, Burns was introduced to the world of media at an early age. His father owned a chain of radio stations, and by age 12, Burns was already behind the mic, pretending to be a newscaster on Saturday mornings.
He transitioned from radio to television at the national level with CNN in Atlanta before moving to local television markets.
