Amy Davis is celebrating her 20th anniversary with KPRC 2 Houston. She joined the station in May 2005 as an investigative reporter.
Over the past two decades, Davis has become a prominent figure in Houston journalism, known for her impactful investigative work. Her dedication to uncovering issues affecting the community has led to significant changes, including exposing scam artists, influencing state laws and city ordinances, and helping consumers recover funds from businesses.
One of her most notable achievements is the "DRAINED" investigative series, which delved into problems within Houston's Public Works water department. This series not only highlighted issues like overbilling and mismanagement but also led to substantial reforms and the arrest of individuals involved in corrupt practices.
The series earned Davis and the KPRC 2 Investigates team the prestigious Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award in 2025 and a 2024 Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) Award.
Before joining KPRC, the Aldine Senior High School and University of Houston grad sharpened her reporting skills across multiple markets.
From 2002 to 2005, Davis worked as a reporter at News 4 San Antonio, WOAI.
Before that, she reported for WLOS ABC 13 Asheville, North Carolina, from 1999 to 2002, and began her broadcast journalism career at KBTV Beaumont, where she served from 1997 to 1999.
