Isiah Carey issues statement concerning DWI arrest

Chron.com and the Houston Chronicle first reported that FOX 26 Houston KRIV "Isiah Factor Uncensored" host Isiah Carey was arrested Friday, accused of driving while intoxicated in Montgomery County.

Sunday night, Carey posted about the incident on social media:

"First and foremost, I want to thank everyone who has reached out. Your support, your prayers, and your belief in me mean more than I can ever express. To my family, my Fox 26 family, my friends, and my community—you have been my rock, and I am forever grateful.

For years, I have dedicated my life to this work—to telling the stories that matter, standing up for what’s right, and fighting for my community. It’s a responsibility I’ve never taken lightly, and I will continue to show up. That has never and will never change.

But in that fight, I lost sight of something just as important—myself. I put my own well-being last, convinced that if I just kept pushing forward, everything would be fine. But you cannot pour from an empty cup. Strength isn’t just about showing up for others—it’s also about showing up for yourself. And it’s time I do that.

I am also making the choice to prioritize my health, my well-being, and my future. Because the best version of me—the one my family, my friends, and my community deserve—is one that is whole.

I ask for your continued support, your understanding, and your prayers. This is not a setback. This is a turning point. And I promise you this—I will come out of this stronger, wiser, and more determined than ever.

With gratitude,

Isiah"

Commenters ranging from ABC13 KTRK evening anchor Erica Simon to FOX 26's CoCo Dominguez offered their support for the channel 26 host.

The Chron reported this is Carey's second DWI arrest.  The other taking place in 2018.

Carey joined FOX 26 in 2001 as a reporter and worked his way to hosting his own late night show.
