KTSM 9 El Paso went off-air earlier this week, and now police are investigating after station engineers found the transmitter vandalized.
Here is more from the station's report:
"Our engineers were about to hike up the Franklin Mountains where the transmitter is located, but due to the dangerous terrain and night animals in the mountain, they were instructed not to for their safety.
At the break of dawn, they hiked to the transmission building only to find a very displeasing surprise: our transmitter had been vandalized. Somebody forced their way in and switched off much of the equipment."
