Norm Hitzges, 78, a Texas Radio Hall of Famer, is retiring this week (Friday June 23, 2023) from 1310 The Ticket after 48 years on Dallas radio.
“I’m going to miss the people,” Hitzges told NBC 5 KXAS. “You become addicted to this job and you want to get up every day and go there. Something fuels you, the comradery, the laughter. It’s different every day.”
A pioneering sports talk radio host, Hitzges stared with KLIF 570 in the 1980s, later moving to The Ticket in 2000.
Hitges will start a podcast on September 4 called "Just Wondering," but will still do projects with The Ticket.
