HLN's "VENGEANCE: Killer Coworkers" comes to Beaumont, TX

"VENGEANCE: Killer Coworkers" airs this Sunday, October 16 at 8pm and 9pm CT on HLN and this one features a case out of Beaumont, Texas:

"On October 31st, 1999, a local police marshal noticed a strange, fiery glow underneath a bridge in downtown Beaumont, Texas. He soon realized that this glow was coming from a car set on fire and after inspecting the area, investigators saw the charred remains of a body in the back of the vehicle. The body was cut up and in trash bags and the head was oddly at the foot of the body, allowing homicide investigators to realize this was a decapitation.

The remains were soon identified from dental records as Kristy Lynn Robbins of Nederland, TX. When she was a junior in high school, she caught the eye of a senior, Christopher Gregory. The couple experienced a detour in their post-high school plans when Kristy became pregnant, and soon enough, Christopher moved in with her and her parents. He got a job at a local strip club, and even though Kristy didn’t like it, she really wanted to make their relationship work.

Their son was born in January 1998 and later that year they moved out of Kristy’s parent’s home. Eventually, Chris didn’t come home one night because he had gone home with a co-worker, Jennifer Walter. The couple decided to split. Soon, Chris was behind on child support payments and had been in and out of court to try to get a joint custody agreement. When police interview Chris, he says he had spoken to Kristy the night before her car was found in ashes. She was supposed to stop by and pick up her son, but she never showed up. Upon digging deeper into each side of the story and gathering phone records, police found that there were not three, like Chris originally said, but twelve calls between Kristy and Chris that night. Investigators go to the apartment of Chris and Jennifer, and upon entering they notice a dark red stain on the floor. Chris is cooperative and says the stain is cranberry juice that his son had spilled.

However, a quick swab proves it is blood. Chris finally begins to say to police that the crime was Jennifer’s doing, but Jennifer says it was all Chris’s idea to kill Kristy. The night of the murder, Chris talked Kristy into coming over and he manipulated Jennifer into helping him with the crime. They waited inside the apartment for Kristy to come inside. Jennifer was behind the front door with a towel ready to strangle Kristy. They tried to make the scene look like a drug overdose but were unsuccessful. In the end, Chris decided he was going to cut Kristy up in the bathtub. When that was proven to be too difficult, they resorted to putting Kristy’s body and limbs into trash bags and setting them on fire, in Kristy’s vehicle, under a bridge. Chris and Jennifer were charged with murder and are now serving out their sentences in a correctional center in Texas."

The show profiles victims who met their killers or alleged killers at work and is the second installment in the VENGEANCE series to focus on murder among colleagues. Each one-hour episode in the VENGEANCE series takes viewers through the twists and turns of a murder investigation, the arrest, and the quest for justice. VENGEANCE: Killer Lovers, which premiered in March 2019, was the first series under HLN’s VENGEANCE franchise which has since covered Killer Families, Killer Newlyweds, Killer Neighbors and Killer Millionaires.
