"Over the past four years I’ve been blessed to call San Antonio home - it’s where I became a husband and father," Wright tweeted on December 14, 2021 after this post was originally published.  "I’m grateful for my time spent with the @KENS5  team and proud of everything we accomplished. My last shows here will be tomorrow - thanks for watching and supporting!"

"Saying farewell to @AaronKENS5 and his family before they head to Seattle. We wish you the best," Wright's KENS 5 co-anchor Sharon Ko tweeted.

“We had an extensive nationwide search for this position," said Tara Finestone, KIRO 7′s news director. "It was important we found the right person. Aaron believes in the power of community, the responsibility of making sure people’s voices are heard and the importance of earning viewer trust. No doubt he will fit right in with the values and mission of the KIRO 7 newsroom."

Wright was hired by KENS 5 in 2018 to be the noon anchor/PM reporter.

Just a year later, Wright was promoted to the evening newscast anchor role.

The Hampton University in Virginia grad has also worked for:

- FOX 43 WBIR Knoxville, Tennessee - anchor/MMJ

- 13 News WREX Rockford, Illinois - anchor/reporter

- NBC News - desk assistant

- WTKR 3 Norfolk, Virginia - intern

Wright and his wife Katie welcomed second baby daughter, Olive, into the world in June 2021.
