Guzman will anchor channel 2 Houston's 6 and 10pm newscasts Monday through Friday starting on January 10, 2022.

Houston television viewers will recognize Guzman from her time as a weekend anchor/reporter for KPRC. She is currently the co-anchor of the NBC4 KNBC Los Angeles morning newscast “Today in LA.”

“Houston is my home, my community, my people,"  Guzman said in a statement. “I am honored to be back with my family and at KPRC 2 where I belong.”

Guzman worked at KNBC with another KPRC 2 colleague, Anthony Yanez, who just returned to the Houston NBC affiliate in September 2021.

"I am excited to announce that my dear friend and native Houstonian Daniella Guzman is coming back to KPRC2, anchoring the 6 & 10 PM weekday newscasts," Yanez posted to Facebook.  "Daniella and I worked together at KPRC2 before she moved to Chicago in 2012. We reunited in Los Angeles and we often talked about someday coming back to Houston. That happened for me two months ago. She’ll be here in January."

“I have been watching her abilities as an anchor grow in Chicago and L.A, leading her morning teams for nearly a decade,” added VP/General Manager Jerry Martin.  “Her professionalism and authenticity will most definitely engage and delight viewers and readers on all KPRC 2 platforms.  It’s always a pleasure to welcome back family to the KPRC 2 team.”

Not only did the Sugar Land raised journalist anchor at KPRC, she also interned there as a University of St. Thomas bilingual journalism and communications student.

In 2012, Guzman left Houston for NBC owned and operated station WMAQ 5 Chicago where she anchored mornings with NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt's son, Stefan.

In 2014, Guzman moved to California to join KNBC.

Guzman's work has been recognized through the Excellence in Broadcast Journalism award given by the National Hispanic Media Coalition.

According to her LinkedIn account, prior to KPRC 2, Guzman worked in sales for KTMD Telemundo Houston, a producer/reporter for the Univision Network, producer/reporter for Televisa Mexico and a reporter for the Houston Chronicle's La Voz.

She is married with two daughters who appear with her in TikTok videos.
