Ugochi Iloka joins KHOU 11

Ugochi Iloka is returning to her hometown to join KHOU 11 as a reporter from FOX6 WBRC Birmingham, AL.

"I’m excited to share, I accepted a reporter position at KHOU in Houston, TX," Iloka tweeted. "I start late next month and my last day at WBRC is Oct. 8th. I will definitely miss our viewers and my team. However,  I’m looking forward to covering stories in my hometown."

Iloka joined WBRC in October 2016 where she has worked as a reporter/fill-in anchor, most recently for Good Day Alabama weekday mornings.

She previously worked for 40/29 KHBS/KHOG Fort Smith/Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Born and raised in Houston, Iloka graduated from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville and interned at FOX 26 KRIV.

In the award winning journalist's bio, Ugochi wrote that most people think her name is Japanese, but it is Nigerian. For middle school, Iloka attended a Nigerian boarding school, where her parents lived before coming to the US.
