Shelby Montgomery joined KOCO 5 Oklahoma City as a news reporter in July 2021 from KVIA 7 El Paso weekend morning anchor where she has worked for the last four years.
In May of 2022, Montgomery was promoted to KOCO weekend morning anchor.
"From Las Cruces, to El Paso, to Oklahoma City," Montgomery posted in 2021. "Friday, I packed up my things and headed to OKC! It was a long 10 hour drive, but I’m excited for this new journey in my life. Today was my first day at the station and I already learned so much."
The Las Cruces, New Mexico native is a graduate of New Mexico State University.
While in school, she interned with KVIA and then was hired by the station. She started as an associate producer, worked her way up to producer and then to anchor/reporter.
