Hannah Davis is moving from WFAA 8 Dallas - Fort Worth's morning newscast 'Daybreak' for lifestyle show 'Good Morning Texas.'

Standing outside of the WFAA Studios at Victory Park, morning anchor Marc Istook and Davis talked about her upcoming move on 3/1/2021 to join host Jane McGarryAlanna Sarabia will be leaving:

"Starting on March 1st, I will be the co-host of 'GMT'. So just waking up a little bit later. And Mark, like you were saying, one of my passions is focusing on the good here in North Texas and there is so much good. So 'Good Morning Texas,' I think it's going to be a really good fit and I cannot wait.

So 'Rise and Shiners,' this is my series where we go undercover to surprise the everyday heroes. We're still going to do that on 'Daybreak'. In fact, it's going to be even bigger. We're going to be doing this once a month, telling these stories, honoring these people who are living life the right way that can inspire us all.

So I'm so excited to still see you guys, but then also 'GMT' and I'm so grateful to WFAA and all of you guys for helping me grow, Marc, to the person, the journalists I'm supposed to be, and I can't wait to keep it going."

The new lifestyle show host will also be able to wake up a little later since 'Good Morning Texas' airs from 9am to 10am.

Davis has worked as a reporter and social media anchor for channel 8's morning show. She started at WFAA in 2016 as an MMJ.

Before DFW, Davis was a producer, reporter, MMJ and anchor for KWCH 12 in Wichita, Kansas.

She attended DePaul University in Chicago and the University of Kansas.
