Luis Gerardo Nuñez joins “Noticiero Telemundo Houston” at 4pm and 4:30pm


HOUSTON - (February 13, 2020) – Telemundo Houston KTMD-TV announced that Luis Gerardo Nuñez has been named co-anchor/ reporter for KTMD’s 4 PM and 4:30 PM newscasts, alongside co-anchor Ingrid Barrera. His first day at Telemundo Houston will be Monday, March 9.

Nuñez joins KTMD from Telemundo 47 / WNJU where he served as co-anchor/ reporter for 4 years. Before this, Nuñez worked at Telemundo 39 / KXTX-TV in Dallas/Fort Worth from 2014 to 2016

A native of Venezuela, Nuñez is a multiple-time regional Emmy Award® winner and brings a solid news background to KTMD that spans 14 years. He began his career as a reporter for Globovision, the Caracas-based 24-hour news network serving Spanish-language viewers in Venezuela, the Caribbean and throughout Latin America.

Nuñez earned a degree in Social Communication Sciences from University of Monteávila in Caracas and a master’s degree in communications from Florida International University. He will be relocating to Houston with his family.
