Houston Matters producer Michael Hagerty gives us a fantastic behind the scenes report on the voice of the Houston Astros.
That booming voice belongs to Bob Ford and he is a very familiar voice to Houstonians.
According to his LinkedIn, Ford started in radio at KXYZ-AM in 1975.
He went on to sit behind the mic at KAUM, 97 Rock KSRR, 101 KLOL and as the morning show host with Crash Collins at Z107.5 KZFX.
On TV, you'll know Ford from his work on TV8 KUHT, HSE and Fox Sports.
Outside of Minute Maid Park, he is also the University Of Houston Public Address Announcer for football at TDECU Stadium.
Hit play on the above interview to listen to a guy who has one of the best announcing voices I've ever heard.
"I was blessed," Ford told Hagerty. "I'm lucky to do this. Having fun being able to do what I do. All of us get to watch a baseball game every night."
