HOUSTON, TX – (September 23, 2016) – Telemundo Houston / KTMD will launch a new half-hour weekday newscast on Monday, September 26.
Paulina Sodi and Crystal Ayala will co-anchor Noticiero Telemundo Houston a las 4 PM. Additionally, news anchor Martin Berlanga will deliver news segments during the new newscast and will continue to anchor the station’s 5 PM and 10 PM weekday newscasts alongside Sodi.
“This local news expansion gives us the opportunity to deliver more local breaking news and up-to-the-minute weather forecasts to our Spanish-language viewers, first,” said Jerry Vazquez, Vice President of News of Telemundo Houston. “With Paulina and Crystal at the helm of the new 4 PM newscast, and our entire team of journalists delivering more news, we will help keep our communities informed about the issues they care about the most.”
The added newscast will bring viewers in Houston an additional 150 minutes of local breaking news coverage and up-to-the-minute weather forecasts each week, more than any other Spanish-language station in the market.
Telemundo Houston is one of 14 Telemundo-owned stations that will add a new half-hour local newscast at 4 PM CT on September 26, to deliver even more local news and information to the communities the station serves.
