UPDATE APRIL 20, 2016
Rob Wu |
"I got an anchoring job with Time Warner Cable News in Raleigh," Wu revealed to mikemcguff.com. "My primary job though is to anchor the 6pm and 11pm newscasts they put on for the ABC station in my old market of Greensboro/Winston-Salem/ High Point (WXLV abc45). That affiliate pays Time Warner to produce their newscasts. I’ll also be helping out with whatever other anchoring needs Time Warner may have for their 24-hr station in the Carolinas."
Wu says the gig kind of fell in his lap so he decided to take it. It also gets him closer to his parents who live near Atlanta. Plus, it's in his former TV market with a company he's already worked for in the past.
As for Houston and FOX 26, it's a time in his life he will look back on fondly.
"I truly enjoyed my time there working with and meeting some wonderful people," Wu added. "From the beginning everyone was so welcoming and encouraging. I leave with absolutely no regrets."
Wu was with KRIV for a little more than two years. He came to the Houston from WXII in Winston-Salem, Greensboro and High Point.
Before WXII, Wu worked at 24-hour cable station YNN in upstate New York. He broke into TV by hosting an MMA show on ImaginAsian TV and a stint at the AT&T Technology Channel.
He attended Syracuse University.
His last day with KRIV was April 15th.
