Maria Corrales joins Fox 26 from Univision 45

Maria Corrales jumps to Fox 26 KRIV from Univision 45 KXLN as multimedia journalist

Maria Corrales joins the KRIV FOX26 news team, announced Bob Morford, the station’s Vice President and News Director. Effective February 24th, Corrales will serve as a multimedia journalist for the “FOX26 News at 5PM” as well as several weekend newscasts.

In making the announcement, Morford stated, “Maria’s experience as both a journalist and a government relations expert will expand the depth of our coverage on critical issues in our community, especially in the area of public health. We look forward to her contributions to our team.”

Throughout her career, Corrales has held a variety of roles in the Houston market. Most recently, she served as a news reporter/producer for KXLN Univision in Houston. Prior to that, she was a media specialist/bilingual spokesperson for Harris County Public Health and Environmental Services in Houston. Corrales began her career interning for KTMD Canal 47 Telemundo in Houston and KTRK Channel 13 in Houston.

Added Corrales, “I am excited to be a part of the prestigious news team I grew up watching and have admired since childhood.”

A graduate of the University of Houston, Corrales holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. She majored in Media Production and minored in Broadcast Journalism and Spanish.
