Governor Rick Perry swears in Nandita Berry as the 109th Texas Secretary of State |
Notice the last name? That's right, Nandita Berry is the wife of 740 KTRH/syndicated conservative talker and Redneck Country Club owner Michael Berry.
According to the state, the duties of the office of the Texas Secretary of State are wide-ranging and include serving as the chief election officer for the state, the governor’s liaison on border and Mexican affairs, and Texas’ chief protocol officer for state and international matters. Additionally, the office manages the business and public filings for Texas.
So I had to ask the previously controversial Michael Berry, will he have to watch what he says on the radio now that his wife is in politics?
"We're two different people," Michael Berry told mikemcguff.com. "She's the Secretary of State, I'm the Czar of Talk Radio. Only angry libtard supposed feminists would ever blame her for what someone else says."
Secretary Berry is the first Indian-American to hold the office and a graduate of the University of Houston and the UH Law Center. Prior to holding office, she was senior counsel at Locke Lord LLP in Houston.
Gov. Perry appointed Former Texas Secretary of State John Steen to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
