KPRC 2 anchors started congratulating her Friday on Facebook, TVSpy's On the Move mentioned it, so I think it's safe to say KVOA Tucson reporter Samantha Ptashkin is coming to KPRC 2.

"I am very excited to move to Texas," Ptashkin told mikemcguff.com. "I have heard great things about Houston and I can't wait to start living and working there!"

If she were in Houston on a day like this, she might stay put in Tucson.

Ptashkin, which is pronounced P-tash-kin, has been reporting at News 4 Tucson since February 2012. According to her bio, she previously worked for Fox 11 KMSB-TV Tucson as a reporter and weekend anchor and a reporter and noon show anchor at WREX-TV in Rockford, IL.

She is a graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. She also minored in Spanish and studied in the city of Guanajuato, located in central Mexico.

According to an internal KPRC memo, Ptashkin starts February, 17th as a multimedia journalist (MMJ).
