The Event is Taking Place on November 16th at the George R. Brown Convention Center, and will consist of a Town Hall Meeting, Information Booths and Enrollment Registration

KXLN will host an informational event about the Affordable Health Care Act aka 'Obamacare.' This will probably work better than healthcare.gov. Here is more from the release:

Univision Radio Houston’s KLTN Estereo Latino 102.9FM, KOVE Recuerdo 106.5FM, KAMA Tu Musica 104.9FM, Que Buena 93.3FM, KLAT Univision America 1010AM, and Univision Television’s KXLN Univision 45/KFTH UniMás 67 will host its second event on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) on Saturday, November 16, beginning at 9 a.m., at George R. Brown Convention Center, located at 1001 Avenida de Las America, Hall A3 Houston, TX 77010.

Univision Houston has partnered with Congressman Gene Green, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Congressman Al Green and the City of Houston to inform the public about the ACA through a bilingual (English/Spanish) town hall meeting, information booths and enrollment registration. The town hall will also feature guest speaker U.S. Secretary of Labor, Thomas E. Perez, Houston Mayor Annise Parker, and Harris County Judge Ed Emmett. The event is free and open to the public.

The town hall meeting will cover the basics about the ACA including: what it is, why it is important, and the requirements for qualification. With the health insurance marketplace currently open, the event will also give attendees the opportunity to visit information booths and enroll for health insurance onsite.

“Univision Houston is proud to once again host an event on the ACA, this time in conjunction with our Radio family and elected officials, in order to help educate and inform our community about this important issue,” said David Loving, senior vice president and general manager, KXLN Univision 45/KFTH UniMás 67 Houston.

Through our collaboration, we will be able to help our community make the best and most informed decision about their health care options as it relates to the ACA,” said Mark Masepohl, senior vice president and regional manager, Univision Radio Houston.

The town hall meeting will be moderated by Rebecca Suarez, News Anchor/Reporter with Noticias Univision 45, and Renzo Heredia, Community Affairs Director and On-Air Personality with Univision Radio Houston. Representatives G. Green, Jackson Lee and A. Green will serve as the panelists.

Following the town hall meeting, those in attendance will have the opportunity to enroll in the health care system and learn more about the health care reform by visiting information booths located onsite.
