KPRC 2 anchors use tablet for scripts on air

An eagle eyed reader of mine wrote to me right before Christmas and said he saw KPRC anchors using a tablet instead of paper scripts during a newscast. Sounds like Santa brought some stocking stuffers early for the Houston NBC affiliate.

"We’re using Nooks (ed. note: Nook is by Barnes and Noble) instead of paper scripts on set," KPRC 2 Vice President/Creative Services Director Mike Guerrieri told mikemcguff.com. "It’s a custom program we wrote that updates scripts in real time."

Very high tech.

In my ephemeral time at KIAH 39 (and before I showed up I presume) anchor Mia Gradney used an iPad instead of paper scripts too.
