As someone who doesn't like pickles either, I totally understand why FOX 26 Houston KRIV morning anchor DaLaun Dillard had enough after the pickle lemonade taste test segment.
"So the station I anchor the news for has the interesting tendency," Dillard posted. "To hear me say that I don't like something and then make a segment out of it a few days later, and see how I react on live TV. Just the other day, I said, I don't like pickles. Look at what they did."
Now, go watch the video above and come back.
In one of the genuinely funny segments I have seen in a while, Dillard has a great on-air response to producer Brittany Krugel and the rest of the crew:
"Guess what else I don't like $1 million. Let that appear.
I don't like money. Let that appear. You know what I'm saying? I don't like a wife. Let that appear.
I don't like a Range Rover. Let that appear. Like y'all get on my nerves every single time I don't...Snakes, next thing you know, snakes.
I don't like alligators. Next thing I know, y'all are talking about an alligator segment. They do this. They do this every time."
Co-anchor Melissa Wilson swears she is innocent and even says these segments are done out of love.
They are done out of ratings, too. FOX 26 morning newscasts are right up at the top with long-time leader ABC13 Houston KTRK, and then dominate at 7am.
