Butch Alsandor and Cynthia Cooper-Dyke to handle TSU basketball play-by-play in expanded TV deal

TSU Basketball set to be broadcast on AT&T Sports Network Southwest with Butch Alsandor and former TSU Lady Tigers head coach Cynthia Cooper-Dyke

HOUSTON- Texas Southern University Athletics has announced a new television deal with AT&T Sports Network Southwest that will expand the networks' coverage of TSU Athletics to include Tigers and Lady Tigers Basketball for the 2017-18 season.

A total of 16 TSU home basketball games are slated to be broadcast live on the network beginning with Texas Southern's men's and women's doubleheader against the Alcorn State Braves on Wednesday, January 3rd.

"We're extremely pleased to announce our new TV partnership with AT&T Sports Network Southwest that will allow for the coverage of 16 TSU basketball games at the HPE Arena," said Texas Southern Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Charles McClelland.

"This platform will undoubtedly help both of our basketball programs along with our entire Athletics department continue the process of expanding our overall brand awareness and exposure. AT&T Sports Network serves as the primary game day coverage provider for the Houston Astros and Houston Rockets and to have our brand associated with such a premier outlet is truly a historic moment for Texas Southern University and the Athletics program."

Texas Southern Tigers play-by-play voice and well known Houston media personality Butch Alsandor will be bringing viewers all of the action this season with former TSU Lady Tigers head coach Cynthia Cooper-Dyke serving as the color commentator.

Six of the scheduled 16 games will be shown on the AT&T Sports Network primary channel with a total of 10 games slated to be broadcast live on the alternate channel. A complete schedule of upcoming game broadcast dates can be found here.
