Andrea Parquet-Taylor named KTVT CBS 11 news director

Former KHOU 11 assistant news director Andrea Parquet-Taylor named Vice President, News Director for KTVT CBS 11

Dallas/Fort WorthAndrea Parquet-Taylor has been named Vice President, News Director for KTVT (CBS 11), the CBS-owned station in Dallas-Fort Worth, it was announced today by President and General Manager Gary Schneider.

“Andrea brings extensive experience as a news director and a depth of knowledge that will help further develop our team from a broadcast and digital perspective,” Schneider said. “She has expertise in producing investigative stories that have substantial impact in the community. She also understands the significant role weather plays in the lives of our viewers here in North Texas.”

Parquet-Taylor joins the station from WNCN, the CBS affiliate in Raleigh-Durham, where she has been news director since 2011. During her tenure, WNCN received multiple Best Newscast honors from the Associated Press of North and South Carolina and Best Newscast and Best Website awards from the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas. Under her leadership, WNCN was also honored with multiple regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, including the station’s first for Best Newscast.

Prior to her time at WNCN, Parquet-Taylor was assistant news director at KHOU, the CBS affiliate in Houston. She also previously served as news director at WXYZ in Detroit, WRAL/WRAZ in Raleigh-Durham and WMAR in Baltimore.

Parquet-Taylor holds a bachelor’s degree in communications arts and sciences from Michigan State University and began her career as a producer at WXYZ. She will join KTVT in February.
