Houston media veteran Susie Loucks loses apartment in fire

Sad news for the Houston media community tonight.

KPRC 2 reports that veteran broadcaster Susie Loucks (aka Elaine Closure on Houston radio stations such as 101 KLOL in the past) has lost her apartment to a fire.

"Smoke started coming through my vents from the attic and I went, 'Oh, my God.' I grabbed everything. Whatever I could," Loucks told channel 2.

I hear she got her two cats out.

Currently Loucks works as a flying photojournalist/reporter for Helicopters, Inc. providing chopper coverage for KPRC as well as KHOU 11 and FOX 26 KRIV.

According to KPRC, 20 to 30 units were destroyed in the fire at the Courtyard complex on Richmond Avenue near Sage Road in the Galleria area of town. READ MORE HERE

If I hear of anyway way to help the displaced Loucks, I will update this post.
