James Starks exits KPRC 2

Weekend sports anchor James Starks issues a statement on his departure from KPRC channel 2:

I'm probably a tad late putting this on here but a number of you have asked where I've been. I'm no longer with KPRC and have decided to pursue other opportunities. Mainly I want to thank ALL OF YOU for all of the love you've shown me since arriving in Houston. I appreciate each and every one of you. I told you last Friday that you might have missed FOX 26 KRIV reporter Ashley Johnson if you blinked, and now we have another Houston TV staffer who appears to be gone after a short tenure.

All signs point to KPRC 2 sports anchor/reporter James Starks leaving the NBC affiliate after arriving here in September 2014.

This apparent departure follows the old adage, if a talent is removed from the bios page then they are no longer with the station.

There is no mention of his departure on his social media accounts.

Starks followed KHOU 11's Lauren Talarico from WLTX Columbia, South Carolina to Houston.

Before South Carolina, Starks jumped into TV part-time at WOIO and Fox-8 in Cleveland as a sideline reporter and anchor while earning a broadcast masters degree at Kent State University.

As I wrote before, what makes Starks standout is his time in the NFL. In 2008, Starks signed a free agent contract with the Cincinnati Bengals.

KPRC had no comment.
