Scarlett Fakhar joins FOX 26 as a general assignment reporter for the station’s weekday 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. newscasts, effective September 8th, announced station Vice President and General Manager, D’Artagnan Bebel.

In making the announcement, Bebel added, “We are very pleased to have Scarlett Fakhar joining us as a general assignment reporter from our sister station in Austin. She exhibited a great work ethic and hustle while there and we are happy to offer her this position.”

Most recently, Fakhar served as the weekend morning anchor for KTBC, the FOX O&O in Austin. Prior to that, she was a weekend anchor/producer and reporter for KAMC 28 News in Lubbock, TX. Fakhar previously was a news intern for NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams and news reporter intern for WGHP in High Point, NC. She began her career as a news reporter intern for KTRK in Houston.

Fakhar added, "Joining the KRIV team is an incredible opportunity for me and I'm excited to call Houston my new home. I have grandparents and friends here already, and I'm looking forward to growing as a reporter in this wonderful city."

A graduate of Elon University, Fakhar holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism.
