Adam Bennett leaves KHOU Houston for KVUE Austin
His father, Dan, a Dallas Cumulus Media executive, has worked in radio for more than 40 years. In fact, I've even reported on this very blog that the Bennett patriarch was named head of Houston's 104.1 KRBE from his DFW post.
Not to be outdone, Bennett's mother formerly worked as a sales executive for KHOU sister station WFAA in Dallas.
"Adam's a sharp young man who did some solid work in Austin," KHOU Executive News Director Philip Bruce told mikemcguff.com. "We're glad to have him on our team."
"I have been beyond lucky to call KEYE and Austin home during the last three years," Bennett said. "Even though this new job is a great opportunity professionally and personally, leaving was still a very difficult decision to make."
Before reporting in the state capitol, Bennett spent more than two and a half years at KAMR/KCIT in Amarillo, first as a reporter and then as a weekend anchor/producer.
Bennett is a 2009 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where he received a degree in Communication Studies.
