Larry Ricketts, 73, of Huffman, has been arrested on an aggravated assault charge for pointing a gun at a KTRK news team last week at his home, two days after he had been charged with aggravated sexual abuse of a 5-year-old girl.

Reporter Demond Fernandez and videographer Gerzain Garcia went to Ricketts' house on Feb. 13 seeking his on-camera comment about the sexual assault allegation.

After Fernandez knocked on the door and spoke with Ricketts, Ricketts pointed a handgun at the news team, as seen on Garcia's videotape.

Earlier in the week, Ricketts had posted a bail bond after his arrest on the sex abuse charge. Now he is being held without bail in the gun case.

  3. The guy was defending his property. The media thinks they have the right to intrude on anyone's privacy or property.

    1. I recommend that you read the statute on Criminal Trespass. It isn't trespassing to walk on someone's property where there is no fence and no No Trespassing sign. In those cases you have to actually order them to leave before they're required to leave. We don't let people brandish firearms in Texas against people who are engaged in lawful behavior.

    2. I recommend you show up at my door with that section of Vernon's in your hand. It might stop a bullet but I seriously doubt it. The law may read nicely but scared people will kill you and the letter of the law doesn't help dead people.

  4. Tenacity makes a good reporter but there are instances where that will get you killed. When you're pushy and standing in someone's doorway they generally don't respond very well to your continued presence. I would have urinated on them. At 73, you can get away with a lot.

  5. Arian Foster didn't have the balls to do that to Isiah Carey because Foster is just a philandering, lying arrogant fraud.

    1. Foster could have just called security to get Isiah Carey out of his neighborhood
